Returning to Platt Fields Park for one day in early June is this year’s Envirolution Festival. As the name suggests, this is a sustainability-themed event, and one with a focus on community. It’s a family-friendly affair with activities for kids, including arts and crafts, mini pop-up farms, and a fair(trade) ground with prizes to be won. The organisers have partnered with GRUBMCR, a street food events company known for their ‘plant powered’ events. They will be present a number of vegan traders to keep festival-goers fuelled for the day. A ‘Green Discussions’ area will have speakers tackling many relevant topics, including how to grow your own veg, reduce your plastic usage, and become more involved in local community projects. New this year is the ‘Healing Fields’, which features workshops that celebrate wellbeing. A stage will have an eclectic mix of music from local musicians, dance collectives, and spoken word artists.
