Following their popular After Hours performance at Common back in May, a Manchester Camerata duet are returning to the scene of their good times. Combining a flair for the more traditional classical timbres with reworkings of pop culture’s recent history, their set is due to include instrumental virtuosity to the tunes of Hendrix’s ‘Purple Haze’, Monti’s ‘Czardas’ and The Rolling Stones’ ‘Satisfaction’. There will be focus on their chamber orchestra’s strings department, with the Camerata’s Caroline Pether (violin) and Hannah Roberts (cello) taking centre stage for the free event, which will no doubt fill up quickly.
