The Blue Pig launches its new free live sessions this week with a talented line-up. Taking place every second Thursday of the month, the night’s launch is headlined by Ríoghnach Connolly Trio, featuring the talents of Nick Blacka (of Mercury Prize-nominated band GoGo Penguin) and Honeyfeet’s Ellis Davies – the acclaimed shuffle-skiffle-core troubadours that Ríoghnach also plays in. Irish-born singer and flautist Ríoghnach draws on unaccompanied folk song as well as the blues and jazz traditions. To celebrate the launch of the Pig Live music sessions, Ríoghnach is joined by Paul Bytheway (pictured, a recent star of BBC Introducing) and homegrown talent, Ben Williams.
