Manchester Central Library is launching a new series of ‘in conversation’ evenings featuring notable guests. Titled ‘Library Lounge’, the series begins with the two events outlined below, and there’s more planned for the future. Tickets are free, but donations will be accepted on the night, in aid of the library’s Development Trust.

TV screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst – Tue 28 Nov
BAFTA-nominated Danny has many TV credits, including for Ordinary Lies, The Accused, Shameless, and Clocking Off. His recent work includes the acclaimed mini-series In the Dark, and The Five – which is based on the work of American crime writer Harlan Coben. He formerly worked as a freelance journalist, writing for regional and national publications such as The Guardian, The Big Issue, and The Manchester Evening News.

Musician Paul Hanley – Mon 4 Dec
Paul is the former drummer of the legendary Manchester band The Fall. He joined the band in 1980 aged only 15, and went on to play on some of the group’s classic albums, including ‘The Wonderful and Frightening World of…’. He now plays with Brix & The Extricated. Paul’s Library Lounge appearance will focus on his love of music, books and libraries, and the influence they have all played in his life.
