After a successful first gambit back at the start of the new year, Soup Kitchen is once again pitching its Jamaican flag and announcing the first Monday of every month to be Rum & Reggae day. It’s the kind of combination to get your over those Monday blues, especially when paired with some of Soup’s Caribbean foodie treats. Jerk chicken, curry goat, rice & peas, salt fish fritters and veggie patties are all on the menu while DJs come in the guise of Hotmilk’s Joey B and Swing Ting’s DJ Samrai (from 6pm). Grab yourself a rum and ting (only £5 for a double) and let your cares float away on a Caribbean breeze before quickly realising you have to live in Manchester for a month until the next one.
