Changing The World Through Fairtrade at Manchester Cathedral
For our first pick of free things to do in Manchester this weekend, we’ve got this afternoon-long event at Manchester Cathedral, promoting and celebrating the work of Fairtrade. Several speakers including Bishop Mark Ashcroft and Whalley Range Councillor Angeliki Stogia will be giving speeches, and there will be workshops running through the afternoon. There will also be plenty of opportunities to pick up plenty of Fairtrade goodies.

The venue formerly known as Retro Bar hosts this third instalment of this regular free entry club night, which aptly has a playlist packed with retro gems. Hot Burrito – the brainchild of veteran party promoters Dots & Loops – leans into indie and postpunk, so expect Arab Strap and Husker Du rather than Britney. The organisers are currently soliciting song requests on Facebook, so get yours in to guarantee your favourite shoegaze floorfiller will be played.
