Hidden History of Women’s Football Talk at National Football Museum (pictured)
Our first pick of free things to do in Manchester this week is this talk at the city centre’s National Football Museum, which looks at the history of women’s football, charting its rapid, early rise, its prohibition and eventual reinstatement, and its gradual climb to the position it holds today. Organised by Manchester’s radical feminist festival Wonder Women 2018, this event will take you through the sport’s history and also point you to some of the fantastic women’s football resources available in the museum.
Mon 19 Mar, National Football Museum, Urbis Building, Cathedral Gardens, Todd Street, Manchester, M4 3BG. 2pm – 3pm, Tel: 0161 605 8200, www.nationalfootballmuseum.com
