Green quarter brewery Blackjack is running a weekend-long Brewtap event over Easter, giving you three full days of tunes, brews and street food. The music lineup over the weekend includes the Sounds of Eighty Six crew and Fish Ain’t Biting crew, and different food will be served up on different days, with pizza on Friday, BBQ on Saturday – the weather man’s predicting good BBQ weather – and Sunday roasts on the Sunday. No particular brews have been confirmed for the tap lineup, but expect old favourites such as their Farmhouse Red and Belgian Gold ales, alongside some more surprising menu inclusions.

Hallé Singing Meetup at The Refuge
All weekend, The Refuge is running a series of events – some free, some not – to give you a blowout Easter, whatever your tastes. One of the free events is this singing meetup conducted by the Hallé’s choral conductors Michelle Robinson and Matthew Roughley. Aimed at all abilities, this is a fun singing session with conductors at the top of their game. At the time of writing, this is listed as sold out, but it’s always worth checking on the day for returns.

SpinFest at Spinningfields
This Sunday, the big stage by the Oast House in Spinningfields plays host to SpinFest – an annual free family festival with music from local, up-and coming artists. The confirmed lineup includes Liverpool-based americana artist Rosenblume and wedding band favourites The Funk Soul Family. As well as music, they’re also offering face painting, glitter painting and family badge making.

Gin Tasting at Atlas Bar
Head down to Atlas Bar, just off Deansgate Locks, this Sunday for a free gin tasting session courtesy of the good people at Tarquin’s Gin. The Cornish craft distillery has been turning out gin from the copper stills of its Cordon Bleu trained chef owner – the titualer Tarquin – since 2012. This afternoon session gives you a chance to sample their diverse range of small-batch gins.
