Inner City Waves at Band on the Wall
On Friday night, Band on the Wall presents another instalment of its regular free entry urban night Inner City Waves, offering up another huge lineup of soul, hip-hop and more. Headlining the night is London-based genre hopper Jerome Thomas (pictured), with support from Mancunian vocalist/producer Berry Blacc, R&B singer Aaliyah Esprit, Liverpudlian funk/jazz/hip-hop band Heavy Lemo, and finally local electropop outfit JAXN. This gig is bound to get packed out, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Historic Manchester University Tour
This Saturday afternoon you can take advantage of this rare opportunity to take a guided tour around the historical heart of Manchester University. Tour guides lead you round the university’s oldest buildings to shed light on its founding as the first civic University in England, established at the height of the Industrial Revolution and at the peak of Manchester’s story as a centre for global trade. The tour will also cover an edited highlights of the Uni’s history, from Turing’s tenure to the splitting of the atom.
