Our first pick of free things to do in Manchester this week is this free taster session courtesy of Northcoders on Tuesday. This one-hour session will give you a quick overview of what it takes to become a developer, as well as offering an insight into Northcoders’ coding bootcamps – a 12-week hothouse designed to turn you into a coding whizz. Tell It Like It Is at PLANT NOMA
Manchester Pride rolls around this weekend, and you can get in the spirit with this art event from MOIST collective and the LGBT Foundation’s Women’s Programme. The event is open to anyone who identifies as a woman, and offers a space to meet new people through a speed-friending event, followed by an evening of art and performances. MOIST will be hosting different creative spaces and workshops throughout the evening, which you can get involved with, offering you the opportunity to display your own work in their temporary exhibition space. The night also includes a performance from Manchester’s free all-female choir SHE Choir.

Cuckoo Gin Tasting at Gullivers
You can grab a free drink this Thursday courtesy of Cuckoo Gin, by attending this free promotional event at Gullivers in the Northern Quarter. Distilled at Holmes Farm in Lancashire, Cuckoo – named after local legend of the Brindle cuckoo – have been offering a menu of three different gins since last year: Signature, spiced and sunshine. You’ll get the opportunity to try all three at this tasting event.

Free Vibes at Band on the Wall
This Thursday sees another installment of Band on the Wall’s premier night for up-and-coming artists. Free Vibes is curated by Amazing Radio DJ Shell Zenner, who will also be closing the night with a DJ set. Also on the bill is Blackpool alt rock band Jekyll, folk singer Hannah Ashcroft, new Mancunian punk band Bleach Boy and Salfordian trio Monk. This is another stellar lineup from the legendary music venue, and bound to be a great night out.
