Andy Smith at AIR Gallery
From Friday through until Sunday, Altrincham-based gallery AIR hosts this free series of pop-up shows/workshops from artist Andy Smith. Smith specialises in public engagement with art, and his new show Lokaj explores the themes of creation and destruction over three days of site-specific performance and collaborative drop-in sessions,

Festwich Preparty at First Draught
This weekend, St. Mary’s Park in Prestwich hosts Festwich: An annual festival packed to the gills with the nation’s finest tribute acts including Kopycat Killers and Wrong Jovi. Tickets for the festival are already sold out, but you can get an early taster at newcomer craft beer bar First Draught who are hosting this pre-party on Saturday evening, spinning a playlist inspired by some of the acts being paid tribute to across the road.

Make a Zine in a Day at People’ History Museum (pictured)
This Sunday, The People’s History Museum hosts the North West Zine Fest, a day celebrating the art of zinemaking, and the region’s biggest showcase for zinemakers of all types. One of the exhibitors on show is Tender Hands Press, who will also be running this excellent workshop inviting you to help them make a zine in a day. The collaborative work will then be available digitally, and later printed by Tender Hands.
