What Happened in the Year of the Dragon Q&A at Cornerhouse
With a UK premiere aptly scheduled to coincide with Chinese New Year, this short animated film takes an uncompromising look at post-1949 China, drawing parallels with Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, whilst drawing from a rich heritage in Chinese art. The screening is followed up by a Q&A featuring Sun Xun, the artist behind the film, and Ying Tan from Manchester’s Centre for Contemporary Chinese Arts.

Creativity Counts at Royal Exchange Theatre

Briton-via-Nashville Callaghan headlines the DOCKyard’s regular Rock the Dock night, hosted by Radio 2’s Janice Long and 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins.
