Last FLIM Nite at 3MT
Affleck’s Palace micro-theatre 3MT is due to close its doors soon (perhaps forever, perhaps under new management), and this Monday one of its most enduring nights is having one last hurrah before moving on to pastures new. FLIM Nite is a spoken word night where comedians, poets, puppeteers and performers of all stripes come together to reimagine and reinterpret a film through their own unique lens. For their swansong gig, they’ve picked David Fincher’s Gen X classic Fight Club. This gig is run on donations, so whilst you can technically attend for free, you’re encouraged to give generously to help set them up in a new home.
Mon 1 Jul, 3MT, Afflecks Arcade 35-39 Oldham Street, Manchester, M1 1JG, 7.30pm – 10pm, www.facebook.com
Wimbledon at First Street (pictured)
The big screen is up on First Street, and what better way to enjoy the sunshine than sitting out and watching some tennis. From Monday, the massive outdoor screen will be screening all of Wimbledon live, right up until the Men’s Singles Final on Sunday 14 July. Get out in the sun and give it your best “Come on Tim!”

Generation Revolution Screening at Central Library
On Thursday evening, Central Library hosts this screening in partnership with the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre. Generation Revolution is a documentary that chronicles the struggles of today’s BAME activists in London, which scooped numerous festival awards upon its release in 2016. Previous screenings of the film by the AIU Centre have also included a Q&A session, so whilst one hasn’t yet been announced, it is to be expected.
Thu 4 Jul, Central Library, St. Peter’s Square, Manchester, M2 5PD, 5.30pm – 7.30pm, www.eventbrite.co.uk
