The Clash Book Launch at Wonder Inn
It’s over 30 years since The Clash broke up, but the intervening decades have seen their fanbase grow and their influence on popular culture assured: Everyone likes The Clash. This weekend Bloomsbury are launching their new Clash book, entitled ‘The Clash Takes on the World: Transnational Perspectives on the Only Band That Matters’, a critical work by academics Samuel Cohen and James Peacock that looks at the band’s reaction to and influence upon global culture, both from a political and artistic perspective. This launch party at Shudehill’s The Wonder Inn includes live performances, spoken word readings and of course, lots of Clash songs on the playlist. It’s free entry, but the organisers will be soliciting donations on the night for the Joe Strummer Foundation.
