Boxing Day at Odd Bar
If you’re looking to carry on the festivities and get your drink on, there can be few better choices than Northern Quarter staple Odd Bar. They’re open all day on Boxing Day, with a full food and drinks menu and some very reasonably priced Bloody Marys. Stay into the evening for DJ Darryl Marsden (pictured) on the decks until kicking out time.

Winter Studio at the Whitworth
This was also running before Christmas, but is throwing open its doors once more for a few days leading into the New Year. The Winter Studio is a family-friendly art event at the gallery’s learning studio where youngsters can make their own creations inspired by the frosty season. it’s the perfect choice for getting the kids out the house and getting crafty.

Last Night of Lightwaves at Salford Quays
It’s you final chance to catch this spectacular light installation all over the Quays. Regrettably, part of the Lightwaves project has already been closed off due to the poor weather, but there’s still plenty to look at, as detailed in our full preview.
