[61] Exhibition at MMU’s Grosvenor Gallery
This new short run exhibition at the Grosvenor Gallery looks at the Miyakobashi Shopping Centre, constructed in 1964 for the Tokyo Olympics. It takes a serious look at the lives and stories of the inhabitants of this shopping centre and the tiny food and retail units they work out of. The launch is this Monday night from 4pm.
Mon 8 Feb – Fri 19 Feb, The Grosvenor Gallery, Manchester School of Art, Grosvenor Building, Cavendish Street, Manchester M15 6BR. 10am- 4.30pm, events.manchester.ac.uk

Vitamin at COW (pictured)
Incredibly good looking boy band Vitamin are teaming up with vintage clothing leviathan Cow to bring a series of free gigs up and down the country. On Tuesday, they’re coming to the Manchester store and bringing their jangly dream rock with them. As well as free music, they’ll be handing out a limited supply of free band T-shirts, and with this group’s star on the rise these will definitely be worth hanging onto.

New Quiz at Pen & Pencil
Not technically a free one, but at £1 entry it’s hardly breaking the bank and all money in the pot goes to the winning team. It’s a fun way to spend an evening and a great opportunity to check out one of the Northern Quarter’s newest bars. There’s also a free round given to the team with the best name, so it pays to get thinking right away.
