Brian Taylor Posters at HOME (pictured)
This is a great little pick for cinephiles. Brian Taylor produces near photorealistic reinterpretations of classic movie posters, with a stable of work that includes Blade Runner, Alien and Robocop. HOME have been running an exhibition of his work since November and it’s only open for a little bit longer, so well worth checking out this week.

Boogie Williams Trio Grande at Matt & Phreds
Boogie Williams Trio Grande are a Manchester-based jazz trio featuring Alan Whitham on bass, Richard Young on drums and the titular Boogie Williams tickling the ivories. For this, one of their regular appearances at the Tib Street venue, they’re accompanied by guitarist Neil C. Young (not that one). With free entry and happy hour running until midnight, get down Matt & Phred’s for a laid back, inexpensive ramp up to the new year. check the video below to see the Trio in action.

Rationing in Focus at IWM North
This is one of the Imperial War Museum’s regular In Focus sessions, where visitors get the chance to get hands on with a slice of the archive. There’s photos, film reels and even a wedding dress on show to give an insight into what life was like during rationing. In this case, the slice is themed around rationing. Only running for another two days, make sure you snap it up quick.
