Prince Exhibition at Fred Aldous
It’s been nearly five months since musical auteur Prince passed away, leaving behind a huge back-catalogue and an immeasurable legacy. This exhibition at Northern Quarter art shop Fred Aldous celebrates this legacy, with contributions from globally-renowned artists including Prince’s art director Martin Homent. Victoria Baths celebrates its 110th birthday this year, and they’re planning a programme of celebrations running into the weekend, but of particular interest is this one-off theatre event on Wednesday night. it features performances from the company at Stockport’s Garrick Theatre and students from Xaverian College, created in response to the historical stories told by the Bath’s customers and staff.

The Edges of These Isles at The Whitworth
This is a mixed-media evening of art and film, as part of The Whitworth’s Thursday Lates series. The Edges of These Isles is a collaboration between Simon Bray and Tom Musgrove, depicting several landscapes from across Britain, rendered in their chosen medium: photography and paint respectively. Thursday Lates always offer a greater insight into the artistic process, and this is presented through a talk with Bray and Musgrove, chaired by John Moores Prize nominated landscape artist Richard Webb. The project has also been bound into a book will also be on sale on the evening

Broshuda & Perfume Advert at Soup Kitchen
Soup Kitchen are hosting a big free gig this Thursday from experimental electronic musicians Broshuda and Perfume Advert. Berlin-based Broshuda play a heady mix of eno-grime, glambient, mindgaze and ambient punk (nope, me neither), and Middlesborough natives Perfume Advert play lo-fi house. They’re also putting on food and drinks offers to get you through this mammoth six-hour party session, with soup and pints from £2.50.
