Running Club at Lululemon Athletico
Chances are you made yourself some promises on New Year’s Eve, and now you’re landed with the daunting prospect of having to keep them. One of the most common promises we make ourselves – and arguably the hardest to keep – is that we’re going to get in shape. You can get a helping hand this Wednesday by taking part in this all-abilities running club, starting from city-centre gymwear shop Lululemon Athletica. With routes ranging from 3km to 7km, there’s something for every ability.

First Quizimodo of the Year at Odd Bar (pictured)
Pub quiz institution Quizimodo is back for 2017, and their putting on their first quiz of the year this Wednesday at Thomas Street’s Odd Bar. Featuring all the usual rounds you’d expect from a pub quiz – and a few rounds you might not expect including drawing rounds and joke competitions. They also throw in free crisps and biscuits for quizzers who’ve not adequately gorged themselves over the festive period. Make sure you get down early, as these quizzes frequently fill up.

Stripped Bare Acoustic Night at The Goose
Stripped Bare is an acoustic night at the heart of the Gay Village, boasting stellar line ups of unplugged artists. This instalment includes sets from country-influenced Marc Gallagher, self-avowed hedonist Nish Goyal, local soul favourite Claire Hanson and Kiwi musician Max Hollander. A great musical start to the year before 2017’s gig calendar properly ramps up.

Last Chance to See Light! at MoSI
This festive family treat has been running at the Museum of Science and Industry all through the Christmas period, but comes to a close this Sunday. The day-long programme boasts a range of from light illusions to shadow puppetry, all brought to life by the museum’s dedicated staff. There’s also a space for little ones to explore light on their own, and even construct their own set of of 3D glasses.
