If you’ve not been destroyed by the bank holiday deluge of chocolate eggs and binge drinking, then maybe you’re for something to do whilst your peers lament with struggling livers and pancreata. If you’re still feeling ruined, then take some comfort in knowing there’s something more sedate to keep you occupied whilst your stomach return to normal. Either way, we’ve got a roundup of free fun to keep you busy until the next weekend comes a calling.

Street Football Challenge at Cathedral Gardens (pictured)
A free family event in the Cathedral Gardens where petit Falcaos can test their wits and skills at the able hands of trained coaches from Little Sports Coaching. Aptly organised by the adjacent National Football Museum, this is an excellent afternoon out for ages eight and above – although it’s probably a terrible place for you, an adult, to live out your unrealised dreams of becoming a professional footballer.
Tue 7 April, Cathedral Gardens, Corporation Street, M4 3BG, 11am – 4pm, www.nationalfootballmuseum.com

Let Live at Odd Bar
The Northern Quarter’s Odd Bar added this to its roster of nights at the start of the year: an open mic night not only gives space to the kind of mopey acoustic fare that occupies the corner of every open mic pub, but also allows poets, beatboxers, loop artists and all manner of other artistic nodes. Ideal for relaxing you back into the week following the Easter Bank Holiday. If you want to perform, it’s recommended that you email in advance.
Tue 7 Apr, Odd Bar, 30-32 Thomas Street, M4 1ER, 7.30pm -10.30pm, www.oddbar.co.uk

Innovating Events at The Shed
The Shed is the loving/mocking moniker of MMU’s Digital Innovation Lab, which is where this event is being hosted. Presented by the ticketing agency Eventbrite, as part of their series of How To guides, this event is aimed at event organisers and showcases some of the wonderful technology you can use to make your promotion go further. We’ve got a full preview here.
Wed 8 Apr, The Shed, Digital Innovation, John Dalton West, Chester Street, M1 5GD, 6pm – 8pm, www.eventbrite.co.uk

Robin Hood at Hold Fast Bar
It’s been 24 years since Kevin Costner donned a pair of tights and a mullet, transforming himself into the original Sheffield-boy-done-good, and where better to experience this acting hallmark than in Manchester’s only nautical-themed cellar bar. No money needed, so just bring yourself and your enthusiasm for Bryan Adams.
Wed 8 Apr, Hold Fast, 50 Newton Street, M1 2EA, 8pm, www.hattershostels.com
