To Begin the World Over Again at WCML
This screening is the last in a two-week mini film festival at the Working Class Movement Library. The film is adapted from from Ian Ruskin’s one man play of the same name and looks at the life of philosopher and revolutionary Thomas Paine, contextualising his ideas and struggles with present-day conflicts between authority and the people. An intellectual catalyst behind both the French and American revolutions, Paine remains one of the most important thinkers in the English language and this screening is a perfect introduction to his work and legacy.
