Launch Party at First Chop Brewing Arm
Salford beermakers First Chop Brewing Arm are releasing their brand new line of ales, and they’re inviting you to come celebrate and sample some of their wares. On offer is a range of ten new barrel-fresh gluten free ales, as well as three different ales produced in collaboration with other breweries as part of Manchester Beer Week’s Collab Fest. The party goes on ‘til late and boasts food from Cameroonian street food vendor Nkono and the decks will be manned by representatives from Finders Keepers Records. There’s even some goody bags if you arrive early!

Northwest Zinefest at Islington Mill (pictured)
The Northwest Zinefest returns once again to Islington Mill, offering a snapshot of the best in independent and homemade publishing. It’s organised by Salford Zine Library, who’ve assembled a roster of over 40 zinesters and indie comics authors for you to peruse and buy from. In addition to the stalls, there’s also various talks and workshops running throughout the afternoon should you get a taste for the zine life yourself. It’s free entry, but they will be taking donations to help run future events and keep the library going.

Beer Week Party at Old Granada Studios
Manchester Beer Week has provided a lot of boozy fun over the past seven days, but there’s room in there for one last blowout. This Big, Buzzin Party at Old Granada Studios features food from Almost Famous and Hip Hop Chip Shop, cocktails from Chorlton favourite Proof, and a hell of a lot of beer. Also: With DJs, tasting sessions and an art installation, there’s plenty here to keep you happy.

Manchester Day
This Sunday also marks Manchester Day, an annual celebration of all things Mancunian. The city centre will be turned into a series of performance spaces, covering everything from circus through to theatre and an interactive science exhibition at the Town Hall.
