The Giggle Dungeon at The Castle
Also listed in our comedy picks this new night at the Castle from seasoned comedy theatre bods at the Giggle Dungeon. The Castle’s small back room plays host to a variety of sketches both new and some favourites from their 2015 Edinburgh Fringe run. They’ve also got local favourite Danny Sutcliffe on the bill, so it’s well worth going for that alone. Future nights are going to be pay on the door, so best to get in on this taster session whilst the giggles are gratis.

Orchard Planting and Disk Golf at Longford Park (pictured)
If you fancy a gentler pace, there’s this event at Longford Park in Stretford. First up is a mass planting event: They’re looking to plant 50+ new apple trees and they’re looking for you to get down on your knees and plant some seeds. Between 11am – 8pm, there’ll be disk golf trials – that’s golf with frisbees for the uninitiated. The days rounded off with a traditional Twelvy Night Wassail, a blessing of the trees. There’s limited places for this part of the event, so make sure you book online.
