Rambert Exhibition at The Lowry
New exhibition Perpetual Motion opens at the Lowry this Saturday, showcasing a range of costumes from the legendary Rambert dance company alongside other works that examine the links between contemporary dance and other artistic forms. The exhibition features pieces from a number of contributors, including the Turner prize-nominated artist Goshka Macuga. If that sounds up your street, we’ve got a full preview here for your perusal.

Rachel Maclean Exhibition at HOME (pictured)
Another exhibition opening this weekend is this new one at HOME from Scottish artist Rachel Maclean. It’s called ‘Wot u :-) about?’ and uses digital prints and video to bring classic fairytales back to life in a creepy candy-coloured Geocities psychedelic swirl. The exhibition runs through til January, but get in early to catch a flash of one of contemporary arts brightest young talents.

Halloween Ball at The Wonder Inn
Shudehill’s best new venue The Wonder Inn is hosting its Halloween party this Saturday night. As well as all your party staples of food, drink, DJs and fancy dress, there’s also going to be live performances from popular local band Gypsy River and the Juba Do Leão Carnival band, who’ll be bringing a Day of the Dead vibe to proceedings.
