Apparently Sunday is the day of rest, but this week our roundup of free events seems to blow that concept out of the water with an end-of-weekend triple whammy. Don’t worry though, none of these will be particularly arduous or taxing so you might as well lap ’em up before Monday strikes.

The Knutsford Artisan Market (pictured)
Get out of the big city this weekend and head to Knutsford for its monthly artisan market, boasting over 100 traders in food, drink and arts and craft. Along with stalls aplenty, the day puts power back in the hands of local producers and small-scale businesses and helps us look back back to the days when the high street reigned supreme. In keeping with this ethos, you’ll find lots of seasonal farm produce, handmade trinkets and more, topped with a hearty dose of community spirit.
Sun 2 Mar, Princess Street, Knutsford, WA16 6BU, 11am – 4pm, FREE, www.theartisanmarket.co.uk

Effed Up Life at The Castle
Amble down to The Castle on Sunday for an evening of ‘broken word, stand-up tragedy and the worst novelty snacks in history’. This week takes on the pretty relatable theme of ‘life’, with performers tackling seven minute slots to interpret it in whatever way they like. Either sit back and relax or, if you fancy getting your hands dirty with a bit of performing, get down early to bag yourself a spot. It’s also worth keeping an eye out for future events from Effed Up, including their free film nights that take on equally as innovative themes.
Sun 2 Mar, The Castle Hotel, 66 Oldham Street, M4 1LE, 7pm – 11pm, FREE, www.facebook.com

Ice Lab at MOSI
This weekend marks your last chance to catch this great little exhibition at the Museum of Science and Industry, which ends its run on Sunday. Highlighting the cutting edge science that takes place in Antarctica, Ice Lab uses a range of artistic avenues such as drawings, models, photographs, films and a light and audio installation to teach us about contemporary architecture that has made the area what it is today. It’s unlikely you’ll find anything else like it, so head down before you lose the chance.
Ends Sun 2 Mar, MOSI, Liverpool Road, Castlefield, M3 4FP, 10am – 5pm, FREE, www.mosi.org.uk
