Well, this is crap: we’re back to the standardised two-day weekend this week – but luckily that’s not to say there’s not plenty to cram in.

SFX at Royal Exchange
This week’s post-office Friday bash at Royal Exchange welcomes Linda Jennings, from which you can expect vocals in a similar vein to the likes of Eva Cassidy and Joni Mitchell, along with Northern singer-songwriter James Holt, who has just released his EP, In The Face Of It All. Things kick off at 6pm, but head down from 5.30pm to catch a happy hour glass of wine or a pint for £3.
Fri 10 Apr, Royal Exchange Theatre, St Anns Square, M2 7DH, 6 – 7pm, FREE, www.royalexchange.co.uk

Levy Market Happy Hour Special (pictured)
Easter’s not over kids! Well, not to the Levy Market anyway, whose second installation of their Easter Egg-stravaganza takes place this Saturday. Along with traders including Nasi Lemak, Tatton Brewery, Bobby’s Bangers, The French Corner, Trove and Winter Tarn Cheese, you’ll also find plenty of sweet happy hour deals if you bob down between 10am and 11am, including free face painting.
Sat 11 Apr, Off Stockport Road, Levenshulme, 10am – 4pm, FREE entry, www.levymarket.com

Saddleworth Creative Network Making and Doing Festival
Get out of Manchester and into Oldham, as Saddleworth Creative Network’s Making and Doing Festival gives you a chance to not only buy local handmade goods from the 55 stalls, but also get involved with demonstrations and crafts to try out yourself. Along with face painting, charity tombola and a tea shop, kids also get a free balloon upon entry. Winner.
Sun 12 Apr, Uppermill Civic Hall, Lee Street, Uppermill, Oldham, OL3 6AE, 11am – 4pm, FREE, www.creativenetwork-saddleworth.co.uk
