Free: Discover Manchester’s World of Wine with Yelp masterclasses

Yelp are celebrating all things WINE during March with free and fun events arranged across Manchester’s finest wine venues. The first of the run is Yelp Introduces: BistroVin, at the Deansgate wine shop and bar which includes a tour of the shop and bar, and a tasting journey through some of the world’s leading wines and grape varieties. This one is fully booked – but more events are taking place over the course of March and all are free to attend. The first is an Elite Supper Club at a mystery venue (Mon 14 Mar, 7pm, www.yelp.co.uk). That’s all we know so far. However, one of the clues about the venue’s identity is that they have loads of wine, so that’s got to be good. The second is a a wine tour and tasting called ‘Escape the City’ at Didsbury’s feted Reserve Wines on Monday 21 March (7pm, www.yelp.co.uk). Reserve owner, Kate Goodman is a former wine expert on the BBC Food and Drink programme. She’s also the brains behind one of the city’s most thrilling yet accessible wine shops. There’s a sister outlet in Altrincham Market selling bottles to take away and an excellent range by the glass. However this event is all about getting to know the range in store with tips, tastings and much more. All you have to do to be in with a chance of securing a place is RSVP on the Yelp event page. Social media fans can also win an extraordinary bottle of wine as part of Yelp’s wine month.
