Ahead of its hotly anticipated reopening on Easter Weekend, Manchester’s urban entertainment utopia Freight Island has unveiled a stellar line-up of live music acts for its free Spring/Summer festival series, promising ‘the most electrifying season yet’ from April to September.

This year, Freight Island has assembled an unmissable roster of world-renowned DJs and musical titans to transform Depot Mayfield into the North West’s best party for six sun-kissed months.

Expect live sets from David Rodigan, Greg Wilson, Norman Jay, Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor and more, with support from beloved local MCs and collectives including Sit N Bun, Supernature Disco, SK1 Records, Me Gusta Collective, Semi Skimmed Edits and Ghosts of Garage.

Alongside the incredible live music, Freight Island hosts another eclectic events programme featuring the famous pop club night Cherrybomb, mass karaoke, creative workshops, and much more.

Meanwhile, foodies can look forward to more sumptuous offerings from all of Freight Island’s beloved traders including Burgerism, Voodoo Ray’s Pizza, Lazy Tony’s Lasagnaria, Indian and Nepalese street food from Payal, Greek street food from Mega Gyros, Venezuelan cuisine from Mia’s Arepas, pan-Asian cuisine from Fuku and many others.

This year, Liverpool’s favourite independent fried chicken institution Patterson’s allso joins the fun, serving their irresistible secret recipe chicken from Fri 29 Mar.

Freight Island’s opening hours from Fri 29 Mar are Thursday from 4pm – 11pm, Friday from 4pm – 12am, Saturday from 12pm – 12am, and Sunday from 12pm – 10pm.
