Described as ‘part street food market, part drinks emporium, and part club’, Friday Food Fight has recently become a destination for Manchester’s foodies – but this week marks the final event, for the time being at least. For the past 11 Friday nights, Castlefield’s stately Upper Campfield Market Hall has played host to 10 different food outlets, creating ‘a big, turbo-charged food court’. This week, competing for your gastronomic affections will be well-known names including Solita, Aumbry, Yang Sing and Mughli, as well as up-and-coming street vendors such as Diamond Dogs and Fair Game Food. There will be also be stalls selling craft beer, cider, and cocktails. Organisers B.Eat Street call this three-month run ‘Season One’, as they hope to bring back the event later this year.

Fri 23 May, Upper Campfield Market Hall, Barton Streeet (off Deansgate), M3, 5.30pm – 11pm, FREE entry (£3 charity donation suggested), www.facebook.com
