The Northern Quarter’s Blue Pig bar is getting into the summer swing of things by lowering the prices of selected cocktails to £5 every Friday night from 5pm until the end of the night. From lime to lychee, rhubarb to raspberry, there’s a fruity feel across their brand new cocktail menu. We particularly like the sound of the Valencia No 2 – which is bubbles, apricot brandy and bitters – and The Big Teasy, inspired by New Orleans and made from prime bourbon, peach, tea and a hint of mint. The Blue Pig’s cocktail menu takes in Classics – such as Cosmopolitan (Absolute citron, the vibrant orange liqueur, Triple Sec, cranberry and lime)- Twisted Classics and fun fantasies like The Blue Pig’s ale of the week turned into an Ale Float, and topped with ice cream and a Flake. Sounds like a party to us. Friday night also offers happy hour deals on wines (£10 a bottle) and selected draught beers for £3 a pint from 5pm-9pm. Plus to really get the weekend off to a fun start, you choose the sound track from 8pm with The Pig is a DJ. Why not start the weekend as you mean to go on?
