Imperial War Museum North commemorates 100 years since the beginning of the First World War with an exhibition exploring the contribution made by the North West. From Street To Trench is made up of over 200 objects, recordings, photographs and letters from the museum’s archives and donations from the public – many of which have never been displayed before. From the thousands of volunteers to the stories of individuals such as Clement Attlee and poet Wilfred Owen, find out how the war affected and shaped the North West today. Told through the previously unpublished stories of soldiers, pilots and civilians, this is the largest collection of its kind – and the IWM North’s first major exhibition to mark the centenary year.
