It’s already been promised that this will never happen again, but we should just feel blessed that Titus Andronicus and Fucked Up ever decided to tour together in the first place. For the uninitiated, the Matador Records-signed Fucked Up are one of the most brutal live acts that the world has ever seen, fronted by the seemingly possessed Damian Abrahams – a man who has twice led his band in the destruction of thousands of pounds of MTV equipment the two times they’ve dared to invite them on the channel. Titus Andronicus are a little more bookish, but still renowned for absolutely tearing up every place they go. Their latest – and most ambitious – record just came out on XL, and this is their first UK tour since around 2010. Somehow, they’ve managed to convince Sub Pop’s METZ to come along for the ride, opening up the show just a few months after selling out Soup Kitchen and having a rise nothing short of meteoric since. If you fancy giving your eardrums a pounding – and having something to brag to your friends for years to come – this triple-bill is highly recommended.
