Directing over 100 of the best artists on the new musical compass to Manchester, Dot To Dot Festival’s city takeover has once again assembled a line-up that’s simply unmissable. Their second year of hosting across the Northern Quarter’s finest soundsystems sees local indie punk PINS, teen rockers Sundara Karma and anthemic soundscapists Amber Run among the bill-toppers. From breathy psych sorcery with Josefin Öhrn to gritty rock singalongs with Cherry Glazerr, the umpteen venues of acts will be strumming, jiving, raving and romping through over 10 hours of pre-Bank Holiday hair-raising. From acoustic guitarman Robbie Cavanagh to Led Zep reincarnation The Bear Around Your Neck, the strength of the local roster serves as a reminder of the great waves rippling through Manchester’s sonic core. The countdown from ellipsis to joined up musical dots is heating up.

Fri 26 May, various Northern Quarter venues, 2pm – 4am, £12, www.dottodotfestival.co.uk
