A free mixer event dedicated to connecting the next generation of digital artists comes to MediaCity’s HotHouse next week.

Forming a key part of this year’s Beyond Conference, the mixer, taking place on Mon 24 Nov, will celebrate and bring together artists who are exploring, disrupting and redefining the realms of creative output in the UK.

Hosted by renowned broadcaster Nihal Arthanayake, the evening will feature an inspiring mix of live performances, including music from BBC 6 Music’s DJ Sophia Hadji-Michael, and a special set from Noelle Nurdin, a spatial audio and AV artist pushing the boundaries of live electronic sets through immersive technologies.

WETRIP will be exhibiting as part of the FaT OuT 25 programme, while Tasmin Middleton, AKA Vice Vera, will give a live performance of Expanded Emotion, showcasing her prototype stagewear, adorned with addressable LEDs which respond to her voice.

As well as hearing first-hand from Noelle and Tasmin, other speakers will include Fat Out’s Emma Thompson, who’ll be sharing more about how Fat Out is working with artists and tech partners to make immersive installations more inclusive, while Garth Williams, Creative Technologist and founder of Safety Catch, will be discussing how his startup is on a mission to create connection and community through collaborative story making.

Elsewhere in the evening’s eclectic programme, Short Supply will be leading a creative workshop, and immersive installations will invite participants to explore, engage and connect with digital and non-digital artists alike. There’ll also be complementary drinks and Nell’s pizza.

For anyone interested in attending, you don’t need a ticket to the wider Beyond Conference. To book your free ticket to the Beyond Fringe mixer, click the button below.
