Just a 20-minute train ride south of Manchester, Macclesfield is fast becoming renowned for its beer scene, with award-winning micro-brewery RedWillow prominent among the town’s beery landscape. The brewery’s bar is, predictably, known as a great ale destination too, but on Monday it plays host to a special gin tasting event instead. Hosted by members of the Marblehead brand developers, the session will feature five gins: Greenhall’s London Dry, Bloom, Sloe Bloom, Berkeley Square and Opihr oriental spiced. The interactive event will also offer participants a chance to play around with different types of garnishes and take a look at what botanicals are used in the featured gins. And at £15 for the evening, tickets are likely to be snapped up quickly.
