The English National Ballet is coming to the Palace Theatre later this month, presenting the world premiere of a new production of Giselle. Choreographed by Akram Khan, this is a major re-imagining of the classic nineteenth century ballet. To celebrate this, the ENB is presenting a Giselle Takeover of the Whitworth Art Gallery. This will be a day of events thematically linked with the production. There will be a screening of the short film Dialogues with Giselle, which features local dancers performing at Victoria Baths. Members of the ballet’s creative team will be on hand to chat about their inspirations for the production. A pop-up exhibition will present costumes inspired the central themes of the ballet, created by up-and-coming designers from the North West. There will also be live dance performances and family music workshops. All events are free, but some require booking.
