Stockport is set to continue its retail revival later tis month, as international jewellery retailer Lovisa prepares to open its latest store at Merseyway.
Launching on Sat 27 Jun, the new arrival will take over the former Ernest Jones unit within the shopping centre, bringing 888sqft of trend-led fashion, waterproof collections and gift-ready pieces to the heart of the town centre in time for summer.

Known for its contemporary take on accessible jewellery, Lovisa has built a global following through its extensive range of earrings, necklaces, rings and seasonal accessories designed to elevate everyday looks without the designer price tag.
The latest opening comes amid continued momentum for Stockport’s evolving high street, with more than 11 million people visiting the town centre last year, marking a 15% increase compared with 2024. As investment continues to reshape the borough, Merseyway continues its revival as a central hub for shopping, leisure and community life.

Recent months have also seen national footwear retailer Shoezone relocate within the centre, moving into the former Tessuti unit and significantly expanding its footprint. The move forms part of a wider programme of retail investment taking place alongside Stockport Council’s ambitious £2bn regeneration plans.
Alongside attracting new brands, Merseyway has continued to benefit from improvement works across the scheme, including upgraded access systems, new height restriction barriers and refurbishment projects aimed at enhancing the visitor experience.
Cllr Micheala Meikle, Cabinet Member for Economy, Regeneration and Skills at Stockport Council, said:
“It’s fantastic to see more national retailers choosing to invest in Stockport and recognising the strength of our town centre. Welcoming brands like Lovisa, alongside the continued expansion of existing retailers at Merseyway, reflects the growing confidence in Stockport as a vibrant place to shop, visit and spend time.
“Our £2bn regeneration programme is transforming the town centre and creating a destination where national brands, independent businesses and local communities can thrive together. These latest openings are another positive step in building a stronger and more diverse retail offer.”
