For people who are old enough to remember Germany vs England in 2001, the name Emile Heskey induces memories of Heskey slotting away the final goal in a 5 -1 drubbing and running off to celebrate by pretending to be putt a golf ball. For teenagers now, he’s more likely to be remembered as an internet meme, thanks to some idiot on youtube making perhaps the least funny viral video of all time about his stats on a FIFA game. Still, former Liverpool and Villa star Emile isn’t likely to mind – he’s currently off finishing his career in Australia, lapping up the sun, earning good money and, crucially, scoring goals. This summer, he returns to British shores for a one off charity game. Organised by his fianceé, the day will feature two games – the first being ex-professional footballers against some male celebrities (it is going to be a bloodbath) and the second being WAGs against some female celebrities (it is not going to be a bloodbath). Names confirmed to feature aside from Emile are Ian Rush, Chantelle Tagoe, Peter Reid, Jude Cisse, Carolynne Poole (X-Factor), Carla Kompany, Chelsee Healey (Waterloo Rd), Charlotte Dawson (Model/Actress) and Jessica Lawler.
