The American election is fast approaching, and even on this side of the Atlantic, folks are awaiting the outcome with baited breath. To mark the big day, the People’s History Museum in Spinningfields is hosting a special event. When the votes are being tallied Stateside, it will be morning here in the UK, and the venue’s Left Bank Café will be serving an American-style breakfast. Early birds and political junkies are invited to enjoy bacon and eggs, or pancakes with maple syrup as they watch the big announcement. Let’s hope the result isn’t the cause of any nausea. While at the Museum, visitors can also enjoy a new exhibition that explores the work of the American campaigner Paul Peter Piech. Dedicated to all Defenders of Human Freedoms features Piech’s political artworks that spoke out against racism and promoted peace.
