Billed as a ‘mischievous look at the nature of identity’, groundbreaking artist Grayson Perry unpacks the curious, perverse modern trinity of individualism, the internet and culture wars, and their combined psychological impact on our sense of self, with two performances of A Show All About You at The Lowry on Sun 8 Oct.

A self-described ‘white, male, heterosexual, able-bodied, English, southerner, baby boomer and member of the establishment’, Perry performs a timely open-heart surgery on his own societal privileges in an exploration of identity, both abstract and corporeal, in a hilarious show which aims to unpack the complexities within everyone.

Contextualised within the last few decades of insidious tribalism, economic atomisation and a growing awareness of both our own and one another’s identities, A Show All About You asks what truly constitutes a person – whether there’s a part of you nobody understands, where you feel like you truly belong and just how you unique you really are.
