The world of craft is no longer just something that your OAP neighbour engages in, for it now has a modern-day following that is totally booming. Our world has arguably never been more creative, and the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair at Spinningfields is back to show that craft today means business. Now in its 6th year, the event features over 150 designer-makers in ceramics, glass, jewellery, wood, paper, interior and fashion textiles, silver, metal, print-making, product design and basically loads more – proving just how thriving the industry is. Pop along to support the creative souls that make life just that little bit more beautiful and, in a climate that threatens to homogenise everything (don’t need to go into the supermarket speel just yet), a lot more inspiring.
