Mark your diaries as Manchester’s Green Island Festival has finally unveiled wave one of its 2024 line-up.

Founded by the likes of Stephan Agbogbe and George McGirr back in 2021, the festival has since cemented itself as an annual staple in Manchester’s grassroots music scene with a core ethos of bonding a community over the love of music, art and culture while offering a peaceful sanctuary from a hectic urban lifestyle.

Posed as somewhat of an antithesis to festival giants, Green Island offers unrivalled up-close and personal performances, and its charm lies in its relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.

The incredible community gathering will feature global sounds at the forefront with performances from local legends such as Chunky, Lovescene, Ruf Dug, global phenomenons Afriquoi, Def MaMa Def and David Walters, Rinse FM resident Arthi, and new wave talent such as R&B soul singer Victoria Jane and contemporary jazz artist corto.alto.

Expect to hear some of the best neo-soul, jazz, ska-punk, indie, hip-hop, pop, electronic genres, and everything in between and, with a focus on accessibility remaining at the forefront, tickets start from just £20 – bargain.

The day festival itself will be taking place at NIAMOS and Hulme Community Garden Centre which will house four stages – Marquee Stage, Forest Stage, The Bandstand and a brand-new Audiophile-inspired Selector Stage.

To keep the vibe going after the sun has set, there’s also a Green Island Afterparty which will see a two-floor takeover of the Pink Room at YES from 11pm till late.
