Grey Lantern and Bad Uncle team up to throw a kind of housewarming party for themselves this weekend, as they turn Levenshulme’s Klondyke Social Club into an all-day Box Social, having both moved to the area last year. Featuring exciting live acts, DJs, an independent record label fare and more, the eclectic line-up is packed full of talent with the aim to put the venue back on the gigging map. Performing live will be math-rockers Electric Electric and French punk band Sport, alongside Housewives, Cowtown, Baberos, Plank!, Bad Grammar, Doctrines and more. Elsewhere, the Social will also host a record fare, featuring some of Manchester’s favourite independent labels – Sways Records, Gizeh, Baptists & Bootleggers, Little Red Rabbits and ONO Records – and local illustrator himHallows, who will be selling his works. Complete with vegan chilli and real ales on offer throughout the day, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Sat 8 Mar, Klondyke Social Club, Burnage Range, Levenshulme, M19 2HQ, 2pm, £8 advance, skiddle.com
