Last summer saw the first Grillstock Festival in Manchester’s Albert Square (pictured) – and demand for smoky barbecue goodness was so high that Red’s BBQ had to open adjacent to the site to sate the hunger leftover when the festival left town. Back for its second year, this meat and music extravaganza promises even more juicy ribs, mountainous pulled pork and other meaty treats – as well as over 25 acts playing across two music stages – over the two days at the tail end of June. There will be barbecue competitions and the finest in craft beers. There’s very little information released as yet but we suggest getting your tickets early, not only due to the high demand of last year’s fest but because there are currently some super saving deals on at the website. Don’t miss out on this masterclass in gluttony and guitars.

Sat 28 & Sun 29 Jun, Albert Square, Manchester, Sat 11am – 11pm, Sun 11am – 5pm, £12 – £40, grillstock.co.uk
