GRIT Manchester will offer the public the unique chance to explore its artist studios this weekend.

Coinciding with this weekend’s Manchester Art Fair, GRIT, which is located within the Great Northern Warehouse, will invite visitors into its creative spaces which usually host more than 30 resident artists.

Happening on Sat 16 Nov, from 2pm – 6pm, ten of the studios will be open and offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at a variety of artistic practices, including fine art, mosaics, and woodwork. A group exhibition has also been curated by artist Helen Davies, especially for the open day.

Many of the resident artists and creatives will be present to discuss their work and demonstrate their creative processes. For those interested in getting hands-on, there will be a free drop-in weave workshop hosted by the duo behind Studio Texteal, offering visitors a chance to learn new techniques and get inspired.

For those looking to get into the festive spirit, there will also be art and handmade gifts for sale from some of the talented makers, providing the perfect opportunity to find one-of-a-kind presents ahead of the holiday season.

The event will take place on the 1st floor of the Great Northern Warehouse. The entrance is located just behind Bar Hutte, just a short walk from the Manchester Art Fair at Manchester Central.
