Whether it’s whimsical family-friendly theatre, poignant explorations of race and class or the return of the much-anticipated PUSH Festival, there’s loads coming to HOME over the next few weeks…

PUSH Festival | Fri 24 Jan - Sat 8 Feb

HOME’s biennial celebration of North West creative talent kicks off this January. Spread over two weeks, the venue’s various stages, screens and exhibition spaces will be dedicated to championing incredible works from around the region.

Highlights from this year’s multidisciplinary programme include 10 Artists 10 Years, which sees HOME unite various collaborators from throughout the years for a joint exhibition, Unhinged, a searing stage exploration of race and gender and 111 More Time, a fascinating show inspired by verbatim interviews with Nightline volunteers (originally performed as part of Manchester International Festival 2023).

Along with the performances, PUSH focuses on offering opportunities for creatives to meet industry professionals, share ideas and inspiration and develop their skills.

One Punch | Wed 12 Feb - Sat 15 Feb

Inspired by true events, One Punch tells the story of a night out during which a single blow led to a tragic and avoidable ending, while simultaneously asking how we can prevent similar scenarios in the future.

Funny, gritty, emotional and shocking, the show, which has been created in partnership with the charity One Punch Hull, holds little back in its depiction of the visceral realities of the lifelong impact a split-second decision can have.

This Kind of Black | Tue 18 Feb - Sat 22 Feb

This Kind of Black (Requiem for Black Boys) is a powerful stage show about growing up in Manchester’s Moss Side in the 1990s, a stone’s throw from conflict and violence.

Created by poet and musician Reece Williams, the performance celebrates a community held together by prayers, warmth and humour, while mourning the tragic loss of young life.

It also examines the way in which the area was portrayed by the media, often positioned through the lens of ‘Gunchester’, gangs and poverty.

The Three Little Pigs | Tue 18 Feb - Thu 20 Feb

Renowned family theatre specialists Stuff and Nonsense return to HOME with a uniquely joyful retelling of the classic tale, The Three Little Pigs.

Told through the company’s signature brand of high-octane theatre, audiences can expect raucous puppetry and side-splitting laughs that’ll have imaginations of all ages soaring.
