From brutal, contemplative Scandi horrors to family-friendly circus spectaculars, here are some of the best Halloween theatre shows not to miss across Greater Manchester:
Presented live in concert for the first time, the Disney classic Hocus Pocus will play on a huge screen at the Bridgewater Hall for one night, with the iconic tale of three wickedly glamorous witches backed by a world-renowned live orchestra playing Emmy-winning composer John Debney’s original score.
Starring Olivier-nominated actor Peter Duncan, brand new ghost story When Darkness Falls is a ‘twisted, terrifying and thrilling tale’ which follows a skeptical history teacher and a young paranormal expert as they meet on a stormy night to record a podcast exploring Guernsey’s haunted past.
Running for four weeks at the Royal Exchange, international cult classic Let The Right One In debuts in Manchester with a terrifying yet moving Scandinavian horror story. Adapted from the novel by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), itself adapted from the 2008 film, this new production offers a compelling, unnerving coming-of-age tale of shimmering love and captivating loneliness.
Returning once again to its Trafford Centre Big Top, Gandey’s Circus Spooktacular brings a brand-new production with a ‘specially selected international cast’ of skeletons, jack-0-lanterns, vampires and renowned ‘Circus Artistes’ for a thrilling family-friendly show.
