DJ Wey a.k.a DJ Python’s ‘deep reggaeton’ album, ‘Mas Amble’, made waves last year on the Incensio label, and the New Yorker is now a staple on most festival lineups. He plays for label, club night and live promoter, Strange Riddims alongside their resident DJ, Miss Ridd. A welcome return after their 4th birthday party back in February 2020.

YCO | Soup | Fri 10 Sept | £5

Soup Kitchen is no longer, enter ‘Soup’, a newly souped up club in the centre of… you know where it is. They welcome a trio as openly absurd as that sentence, in the shape of YCO (which stands for ‘yeah, come on!’), a new label run by Gobstopper and Polity’s BFTT and AYA f.k.a LOFT, who fronted its debut EP. They’re joined by Georg-i from YCO002, a three track EP which escapes genre definition. It’s fast, hard, and chuggy. Hear it for yourself on Friday 10th.

96 Back b2b Lupini | Soup | Fri 24 Sept | £5

Sheffield born, 96 Back has had quite the few years, with a new live show and second album under his belt. His pioneering blend of effervescent melodies and blistering drums have taken him across Europe and now to the intimate Soup Kitchen, where he’ll be going b2b with Liverpool’s Lupini, a talented selector who’s eclectic shows of weird and wonderful sounds have found a fitting home on NTS Radio, who recently bumped her up to channel one, following a debut set in Berlin.

Prosumer, Maurice Fulton | Hidden | Sat 2 Oct | £18.40

The Unabombers are in full swing. Electric Chair is back after 14 years with DJ Harvey no less, Homobloc is having its second edition in November, and Homoelectric is here to keep the party going on Saturday 2 October. They invite Berlin stalwart Prosumer and Sheffield/Baltimore veteran Maurice Fulton for a queer block party like no other. They’re joined by residents Luke Una, Gina Breeze, Jamie Bull, Will Tramp and Lukas.

Chaos in the CBD | Hidden | Sat 13 Nov | £15

Kiwi brothers, Chaos in the CBD have been tearing up dance floors in the UK for years now, by now they feel like one of us. They’re touring doing all night long sets, fittingly named ‘All Night Chaos’. They hit Hidden this November, get down to hear exclusive, unreleased tracks from their label, In Dust We Trust.
