Abi Clarke brings her debut show to Lowry, Heidi Regan is at XS Malarkey and Amy Annette is at GRUB.
Amy Annette brings her love letter to the noughties with her debut show Thick Skin that takes in Trinny and Susannah, Girls Magazines and generally being a weird teen during a difficult time for body image politics. After a sold out run at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Soho Theatre in London, Amy is fast becoming a favourite comedian of comedians with the likes of Rose Matafeo, Aisling Bea and Lou Sanders championing her rise.
Having found almost instant fame via her online videos, Abi Clarke has knuckled down to create her debut hour of stand-up. Here she unpicks the ‘modern day fairytale’ of posting a video online as a ‘nobody’ and waking up to thousands of followers. Done with lashings of self deprecation and a guilty feminist tone of trying to do the right things in a world that constantly tells you you’re wrong. Clarke is a modern comedian for a modern world.

XS Malarkey continues its stellar run of previews with one from the wonderfully off kilter Heidi Regan. One of our favourite performers Regan has a unique delivery style in her relaxed Australian tone that evokes the best laid back stand-ups whilst being truly her own. There’ll be full support and hosting duties supplied by Toby Hadoke. Treats all round.
