Tour shows in town from Sam Campbell and Emmanuel Sonubi at The Lowry and Gauri B at The Frog & Bucket make up our picks of must-see comedy this week in Manchester.

Gauri B at The Frog & Bucket | Wed 29 May | 8pm | £15

Indian-born, Berlin bases Gauri B has taken the internet, and subsequently the world by storm. Here she lands in Manchester with debut tour show Love, Money, Shame having already performed in Melbourne, New York and London. Promising a dark night of stand-up, anyone who has seen the comic’s reels and clips will know she’s a force to be reckoned with and surely destined for huge things in the future.

The Frog & Bucket, 102 Oldham Street, Manchester, M4 1LJ
Sam Campbell at The Lowry | Fri 31 May | 7.30pm | £24.50

It’s mad that Sam Campbell is doing two nights at The Lowry in the huge Lyric Theatre, and even madder that there are any tickets left. The most unique comedy performer currently working anywhere in the world, Campbell is constantly creating original comic works and it really is a bizarre joy to behold. If you can go see him, do it, please.

Emmanuel Sonubi at The Lowry | Sun 2 Jun | 8pm | £14.50-16.50

Being a comedian is a tough job, but what’s even tougher is all the jobs they have to do whilst moonlighting as a comic at the beginning of their career in stand-up. Such a job history is the basis for Emmanuel Sonubi’s latest tour CV which lands at The Lowry on Sunday night to save you from the dread of another week of work yourself. From working in IT to the doors of London’s nightlife whilst building up an impressive list of musical theatre credits, Sonubi has done it all, and is here to tell the hilarious tales.
